As a Machine Operator – Material Handler, you will support production in our Press Systems by preparing, packaging, and assisting Press Operations used in the assembly of Valpak envelopes. This entry-level role is essential to maintaining the flow of printed materials and ensuring quality and accuracy. This is a physically active role that requires standing in one place for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with Senior Process Technicians and other team members to keep production moving and continuously improve our manufacturing process.
M110 Press family equipment includes web-up, stacker set-up, blanket washing, packaging equipment and label systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot routine mechanical or process issues
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Monitor product quality and identify issues
- Communicate equipment or production concerns to team leaders
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Crosstrain on other equipment within the production area
- Participate in training through the VMC Progression Program
- 3-6 months of stable manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
- Comfortable standing in one position throughout 12-hour shift
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow work instructions and production specifications
- Basic reading and math skills (e.g., understanding scales, labels, and counts)
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work around industrial equipment and noise (hearing protection provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
