CLINICAL ONCOLOGY PHARMACIST - SCC INFUSION PHARM

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • The pharmacy department plays an integral role in the healthcare team at East Alabama Medical Center, Spencer Cancer Center and East Alabama Infusion Center. The Oncology pharmacist ensures the safe and effective use of medication by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services. The pharmacist accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current EAMC policies and procedures. The pharmacist is responsible for leading efforts in the prevention and reporting of medication errors and adverse drug reactions according to policy and works to continuously improve process and practice in the institution to enhance safety of medication therapy. This pharmacist must maintain competence in all aspects of current clean room operations, aseptic techniques, and pharmacy standards including the safe handling of hazardous medications according to USP chapters <797>, <800>.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum Education
      • Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy

    • Minimum Experience
      • N/A

    • Required Registration/License/Certification
      • Active and clear Registered Pharmacist license and Controlled Substance Permit from the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy
      • BLS within 90 DOH/Transfer

    • Preferred Education
      • PharmD and/or PGY-1 and/or PGY-2 Oncology Practice Residency

    • Preferred Experience
      • 3-5 years of oncology pharmacy practice

    • Preferred Registration/License/Certification
      • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other applicable certification

    • Other Requirements
      • N/A
