Student Summer Help - Distribution Center (Must be 18 Years or Older) at Hinkley Lighting Inc – Avon Lake, Ohio

Hinkley is looking for several students (must be age 18 or over) for temporary project work in our distribution center (warehouse) for summer only. Ideal candidates are college students or high school students if over age of 18.

Schedule: The position is temporary for the summer months when school is not in session.

• Start date in May (would discuss individual start date during initial phone screening).
• Position can be full-time or part-time:
• Full-time, 40 hours per week. Work shift either 6:30 am – 3 pm or 7 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. 8 paid hours per day (30 min unpaid lunch).
• May consider part-time, minimum 32 hours/week, flexible on hours/days.

Hourly Pay: Pay: $15.50/hour (pay date is every other Friday).

Location: The position is in our Distribution Center at 33000 Pin Oak Parkway, Avon Lake, OH 44012

Job Duties may vary but include:

• Unloading boxes of products from shipping containers by hand and palletizes products. Box weight averages 12-15 lbs. per box.
• Miscellaneous inventory clean up.
• Scrapping of discontinued inventory.
• Pulling stock from inventory (“picking orders”) using powered industrial stock picker (on the job training provided).
• Miscellaneous housekeeping of warehouse as required (sweeping, emptying trash, etc.)

Experience needed: No prior experience required, however, must be dependable and willing to work at heights (order picking requires operating a stock picker up to 25 feet in air); will provide safety training and safety equipment provided!
