Babbitting Service, Inc (BSI) is a leader in the manufacture, design and repair of Hydrodynamic Fluid Film Bearings (Babbitt Bearings) and related parts since 1961. BSI services OEM's, aftermarket, and end users across the globe. We are seeking to hire a CNC Lathe Machinist with a minimum of 3+years' manufacturing or equivalent experience, to produce machined parts by setting up and operating a Fanuc control CNC Lathe. BSI is a job shop, prototype and R&D manufacturing facility and parts can range from simple to highly complex with low quantity requirements varying from 1 or 2, to 20 or more per lot. This type of manufacturing requires quick set-ups, precision execution, and attention to detail for success.
CNC Lathe Machinist Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Doosan lathes.
- Set work offsets and adjust wear offsets as needed to meet part tolerances.
- Install tools and cut jaws as needed.
- Verify first-run part(s) for acceptance.
- Inspect and change cutting inserts as needed.
- Hold tight tolerance up to +/-.0001".
- Measure work pieces for conformance to specification using measuring instruments such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gage pins.
- Use overhead crane system to load and unload heavy parts.
- Upload and download programs to and from server.
- Edit programs as needed to match updated drawing revisions.
- Adjust machine speeds and feeds as needed.
- Responsible for keeping work area safe, clean and organized.

- Must have a minimum of 3+ years' experience setting up CNC Lathes, preferably Doosan.
- Must be able to interpret blueprints and have a clear understanding of geometric tolerances and surface finishes.
- Must have G & M code knowledge.
- Must have basic math skills.
