CNC Mill Operator - 3rd Shift at Cornell Forge Company – Chicago, Illinois

Cornell Forge is a recognized leader in the forging industry with a longstanding reputation for producing complex parts. Our facility is located just south of Chicago in Bedford Park.

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Mill Operator. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferably in steel, forging or machining. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC mill operator that has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Applicants must be organized, self-motivated and able to complete tasks unsupervised.

Essential Functions:

• Set up and operate a vertical CNC mill.
• Must know how to use machinist tools for measuring and indicating work pieces.
• Must possess computer skills in order to transfer program files to the appropriate workstation.
• Must possess mathematical aptitude.
• Can read and interpret blueprints.
• Able to use various hand tools (grinder, hand stamps, etc.)
• Complete setup sheets and other paperwork as needed.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years’ experience in a related field
• Positive attitude and team player
• Proven history of an excellent work performance, reliability and attendance
