About This Position
We Pack It All (WPIA) is seeking a proactive and execution-focused Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to support the professionalization of safety, workforce accountability, and operational discipline across our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for executing WPIA’s Safety Management System, implementing structured safety programs in partnership with Comprehensive Safety Professionals (CSP), and owning safety training and development programs for hourly employees, supervisors, and managers. The EH&S Specialist will be based primarily at our Duarte facility, where operational risk exposure is highest, while providing structured support to our Irwindale facility. This role plays a critical part in reinforcing WPIA’s commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
Safety Management System Execution
• Execute WPIA’s Safety Management System in alignment with CSP’s professional safety framework
• Conduct routine safety audits, hazard assessments, and facility walkthroughs
• Identify hazards and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain hazard tracking logs and follow through to closure
• Monitor safety trends and proactively identify risk exposure areas
Incident Investigation & Risk Mitigation
• Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action identification
• Partner with Operations leadership to ensure accountability and prevention measures
• Maintain incident documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA and Cal-OSHA requirements
• Track and report incident trends and improvement actions
Safety Training & Workforce Development (Key Ownership Area)
• Own and execute safety training programs for hourly employees, supervisors, and managers
• Coordinate and deliver safety onboarding training for new hires
• Partner with HR to integrate safety training into WPIA’s Learning Management System (LMS)
• Develop and maintain structured safety learning paths aligned with job roles
• Reinforce supervisor safety accountability through coaching and education
• Support development of a proactive safety culture across both facilities
Compliance & Regulatory Support
• Support compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and applicable safety regulations
• Maintain safety records and required documentation
• Support regulatory inspections and audits as needed
• Ensure training records and safety documentation are accurate and complete
Cross-Functional Partnership
• Partner closely with Operations leadership to reinforce safety ownership at the supervisor level
• Collaborate with HR on investigations, compliance initiatives, and accountability alignment
• Support leadership in strengthening safety culture and professional workplace standards
Facility Coverage Model
Primary deployment: Duarte Facility (approximately 70–80%)
Secondary deployment: Irwindale Facility (approximately 20–30%)
Travel between facilities is required.
Qualifications
• 2–5 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
• Experience conducting safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
• Experience delivering safety training to employees and supervisors
• Strong understanding of OSHA and Cal-OSHA safety regulations
• Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and influence operational leaders
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or industrial production environments
• Experience implementing structured safety programs or safety management systems
• OSHA 30 Certification
• ASP certification (Associate Safety Professional) preferred
