About This Position

Role Summary

The IT/AV Technician supports all technology needs at the National Medal of Honor Museum including the Griffin Institute training theatre, all group and private special events. This includes on-site level 1 support for point-of-sale, payment, audio visual, desktop support and various other systems critical to the business operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver on-site Level 1 support for point-of-sale, payment, audio visual, CMS, and various other systems that are critical to business operations.
  • Deliver comprehensive IT and AV support for internal and extrnal events - meetings, galas, public programing etc.
  • Complete daily checklists to ensure all systems and venue tech are operational.
  • Maintain a working knowledge base of all proprietary venue technology.
  • Monitor and provide support for all operating system issues.
  • Ensure applications are maintained and operated consistently with compliance and regulatory requirements e.g. PCI
  • Be a point of contact for 3rd party vendors associated with venue technology as directed by Operations management -troubleshoot, replace or coordinate replacement of defective hardware
  • Execute hardware and software upgrades and patches as outlined by the Venue Technology Manager
  • Maintain an inventory of all hardware devices.
  • Ensure all technical support issues are logged in ticketing system.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adhere to all organizational technology standards.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the IT group and be a point of contact for all IT related issues and inquiries at the venue.
  • Work with Infrastructure teams to deploy and maintain IT infrastructure and enterprise systems such as corporate email, security, Accounting/Finance systems, collaboration tools, etc.
  • Attend meetings with the operations and special events teams to understand and deliver venue technology needs for a variety of special or private events.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in?IT related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant IT support ideally in the?Hospitality, Tourism, Attractions industry
  • 1-3 years of relevant AV support ideally in the Hospitality, Events, or Attractions industry
  • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 suite of products
  • PCI risk and compliance experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • IT Management tools (e.g. Active Directory)
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays to reflect the business needs of the museum
  • Experience with an IT ticketing solution to track and manage issues and requests
  • Experience managing external vendors delivering managed IT services
  • Relevant technical certifications preferred
  • A wide base of experience in one or more technologies, including systems, client technologies, network, business intelligence and analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the?ability to communicate?with?all levels?of staff
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload?and?multitask in a?fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • High level of integrity?and dependability with?a strong sense of urgency?and?result-orientation

Pay Range: $24-27 per hour
