Position Summary

The CNA provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role assists with activities of daily living, promotes patient comfort and safety, and supports the healthcare team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Care & Support

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor, measure, and record vital signs; report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
  • Provide emotional support, comfort, and companionship to patients.
  • Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and ambulation to promote safety and mobility.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.

Safety, Infection Control & Teamwork

  • Follow infection prevention, safety protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Professional Conduct

  • Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
  • Participate in required training, staff meetings, and in-service education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational operations.
Requirements: Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Texas Nurse Aide (CNA) certification.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Experience & Skills

  • One year of experience as a nurse aide preferred; acute care experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.

Language Skills:

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift, move, and assist patients with mobility.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motions required.
  • Exposure to clinical environments; adherence to safety protocols required.
