Job Description
Position Summary:
Assists professional nursing staff by performing specific patient care tasks.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
High school graduate or equivalent upon hire or transfer to the
department.
1. CNA - Will be listed with the Texas Department of Health
Nurse Aid Registry.
2. NA – Completion of MCHS NA training and/or verification of
competence.
B. Training and Experience:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart
Association required within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer to
department.
C. Job Knowledge:
The certified nursing assistant/nursing assistant must have the ability to
follow instructions precisely.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Ability to perform:
1. Heavy lifting
2. Sustained standing and walking
3. Work under stress
4. Varied work hours and shifts
B. May encounter exposure to infectious diseases.
