Join Our TeamSouthern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Certified Supervisory Peer Recovery Support Specialist – Clinical (CSPRSS-Clinical) to join our behavioral health team. This position combines direct clinical services, peer recovery support, mentorship, and quality assurance responsibilities within a recovery-oriented environment focused on high-quality, person-centered care.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include providing individual and group therapy services utilizing evidence-based interventions, conducting clinical assessments, confirming diagnoses, and developing individualized treatment plans. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, mentoring and supporting Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) through coaching and professional guidance, and reviewing clinical and peer documentation to ensure compliance and quality standards are met. Additional responsibilities include participating in quality assurance activities and performance improvement initiatives, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated consumer care, assisting consumers with accessing community resources and recovery supports, providing training and technical assistance to staff as needed, and upholding professional, ethical, and recovery-oriented standards in all interactions and services.
Qualifications✔ Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field required
✔ Active Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) certification through WVCBAPP required
✔ Minimum of three (3) years of personal recovery experience required
✔ Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral health or clinical services required
✔ Active clinical licensure or licensure eligibility preferred (LPC, LGSW, LICSW, or equivalent)
✔ Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required
- Experience in quality assurance, documentation review, or peer mentorship preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented practices and evidence-based treatment approaches
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality standards
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation
