Job Description
Administrative Assistant - Central Campus
- Prepare, process, and maintain accepted student communications.
- Responsible for fulfilling requests for information by mail.
- Organize, submit, and maintain Banner budget transactions (transfers, requisitions, PO’s).
- Compile, enter, submit, and maintain P-card expense reports for expenses incurred for recruiting.
- Oversee procurement budgetary units for purchasing general office supplies, catering, special events, and projects for department.
- Record and maintain accurate inventory for recruiting items, promotional giveaways, educational material, and loaner tracker.
- Collect, compile, and maintain department monthly report.
- Serve as point person to create, submit and maintain departmental work orders, maintenance, IT, and other service requests.
- Provide administrative support to the department and recruiting staff.
- Work cooperatively to achieve the College’s annual goals and objectives.
- Utilize Outlook calendar for all department meetings, activities, events and personal attendance.
- Perform general office duties including answer phones, copying, filing, and bulk mail outs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Manage multiple priorities with limited supervision
- Team-oriented with the ability to work well with other staff and faculty members
- Possess personal computer literacy
- Organizational skills
- Facilitate timely, professional communication and problem resolution strategies
- Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer and office support services
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Degree in education, human services, communications or related fields preferred.
- Two years of office clerical or administrative support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Experience including one or more years in higher education environment.
- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint.
- Customer Service Skills
- Texas and/or other valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required. This position requires travel between San Jacinto College campus locations to assist with outreach and recruitment events and activities.
Note: This position has opportunity for limited remote work arrangements with appropriate approvals and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and needs of the College.
Salary Grade: 103
Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
