Referral Specialist at Gifford Health Care – Bethel, Vermont

Gifford is looking for a Referral Specialist to join our Primary Care team at our Bethel, VT Health Clinic.

We are seeking a Referral Specialist who will provide a wide range of patient, clinical support staff and provider relations, acting as patient access support and an office representative. This role is responsible for providing exceptional support to multiple Provider Practices.

The Referral Specialist role requires a detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused approach, providing a first point of contact for our Primary Care team. In this role, you will greet patients, families, and visitors, answer phones, manage provider schedules, and coordinate appointments across various departments. Key responsibilities include registering patients, verifying insurance/demographics, collecting payments, and ensuring all necessary referrals and authorizations are in place. You will maintain accurate, confidential electronic records, track encounter forms for billing accuracy, and facilitate clear communication between patients, providers, and external entities to ensure the highest level of satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, time management, effective and professional communication, and conflict resolution skills, along with a commitment to upholding the organization's standards and policies.
