Nurse Assistant at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

A fast-paced stepdown unit seeks a nursing assistant to perform direct patient care and receptionist duties. Excellent customer service skills would be needed for receiving calls over the patient intercom and answering telephones to receive and relay messages, sending and receiving materials through the pneumatic tube system, and informing the nurse manager or team leader of patient and unit activities and information.
The individual would provide direct care for specific patient groups in cooperation with other team members, communicate pertinent information to patient care team, and cooperate and interact with all healthcare providers. Some duties include assisting with daily bathing, skin care and additional cleaning needed by the patient during the shift. The individual for this job will be cross-trained for nursing assistant and unit clerk.
