Sales Development Representative in Pennsylvania at FUND ACCOUNTING SOLUTION TECHNOLOGIES LLC
Job Description
About Us
FUNDVIEW is a modern, cloud-based ERP platform built specifically for local governments with populations under 25,000. Hundreds of cities, towns, and counties rely on FUNDVIEW to replace outdated legacy systems and move beyond spreadsheets or generic accounting tools that were not purpose-built for local governments.
Our integrated SaaS suite includes finance, utility billing, payroll, permitting, code enforcement, municipal court, and citizen services, giving local governments enterprise-grade software capability without added complexity.
Our mission is to make government work easier. We deliver intuitive software, fast onboarding, and responsive support so local governments can operate more efficiently and serve their communities with confidence.
About the Role
FUNDVIEW is hiring Sales Development Representatives with grit, hustle and a builder’s mindset to help launch our 2027 outbound engine. You will be the first voice many city and town finance leaders hear from FUNDVIEW: picking up the phone, starting real conversations and booking qualified discovery meetings for our Account Executives.
This is a high-activity, phone-first role on a team that is building its playbook as it grows. You will be coached closely, measured on meetings that are held and become real opportunities (not just meetings booked), and expected to help make the process better as you go. It is a strong starting point for someone who wants a long-term career in sales.
FUNDVIEW welcomes candidates with equivalent experience; a specific degree or prior government background is not required.
What you’ll do
- Do whatever it takes to connect with and have 10+ quality conversations per day with municipal finance directors, city administrators, clerks and treasurers. Expect consistent, high activity (100+ calls a day, supported by email), but activity is the means, not the goal. Your impact is measured by the connections you make, the information you gather, the quality of the meetings you book, and the pipeline and revenue that come from your work.
- Research towns and cities before you call so every conversation starts with something relevant, without letting research slow down your activity.
- Ask good questions to understand each prospect’s current system, contract and renewal timing, fiscal year, decision path and what’s not working.
- Work through common objections (“we’re happy,” “we just switched,” “send me an email”) by staying curious and leaving each call with a pain point, a date or a name.
- Book quality discovery meetings for Account Executives that happen and turn into real opportunities, knowing when to book, nurture or pass. Write a clear handoff note, confirm 24 hours ahead and run the recovery cadence when a meeting is missed.
- Log every conversation and next step in HubSpot the same day, and set a dated follow-up on every conversation that doesn’t book.
- Help open new states by mapping accounts, finding the right contacts and learning what matters to buyers in each market.
- Join weekly call reviews and role-plays, apply feedback quickly and share what’s working with the team.
- Bring ideas to improve lists, talk tracks, sequences and tools; when something is broken, propose the fix.
What you’ll bring (Required Skills)
- A proven work ethic: you have sustained high effort and high activity before and can share the numbers behind it, and you’re ready and willing for 100+ calls a day.
- Comfort on the phone and with rejection; you pick up the phone first and keep going after a “no.”
- Curiosity and coachability: you ask thoughtful questions, want honest feedback and apply it quickly.
- A positive, competitive attitude that makes teammates better, and a habit of bringing solutions, not complaints.
- Clear, confident verbal and written communication, and the discipline to keep accurate CRM records.
- A genuine interest in building a career in sales.
Nice to have, not required
- 1–3 years of experience as an SDR or BDR, ideally in B2B software, with results you can show: where you ranked against your peers, your held and meeting-to-opportunity conversion rates, and the qualification approach behind them.
- Experience with HubSpot or another CRM, a power dialer and email sequencing tools.
- Exposure to government, public sector, municipal finance or ERP software.
- A competitive nature, built in a competitive environment where you faced rejection, pushed through it and grew from it.
Who thrives at FUNDVIEW
A hungry, humble competitor who outworks the plan and gets better every week. You are naturally curious, but you don’t let learning get in the way of doing the work. You stay positive on hard days, lift the people around you and see an imperfect process as something to build, not a reason to wait. You use modern tools, including AI where appropriate, to research faster and spend more time talking with prospects.
