PBCA Intern in Topeka, Kansas at Kansas Housing Resources

This position will learn about affordable housing programs and assist the Project Based Section 8 Contract Administration (PBCA) division with the tasks required under the Annual Contributions Contract (ACC) and the Section 811 Project Rental Assistance (811 PRA) programs. The intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including assisting the finance and compliance teams with their daily tasks, development of the 811 PRA program, and learning various affordable housing programs. Assist with development of the 811 PRA program by creating and reviewing forms.

• Assist the PBCA compliance team with completing tasks related to on-site reviews of properties in the portfolio.
• Assist the PBCA finance team with processing rent adjustments and utility allowances.
• Collaborate with KHRC team members to improve policies and procedures.
• Identify issues or recurrent problems in processes or policies and recommend solutions.
• Assist with data entry.
• Complete special projects as needed and other duties as may be assigned.

• Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university with a major in Business, Finance, Economics or Law (sophomore, junior or senior level)
• Possess strong data analysis skills and strategic thinking abilities
• Possess strong technical and organizational skills
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to work in a professional environment
