Position Summary

Performs pre-analytical, processing functions to support testing completed by Medical Laboratory Technicians and Medical Technologists. Assists Technicians and Technologists by labeling and sorting samples and specimens, preparing specimens for testing, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining stock levels of laboratory supplies. Performs waived testing and data related tasks associated with the requisitioning and reporting system used by the Laboratory. Supports department by collecting blood samples and body fluids from patients and performing EKGs when needed. Minimum Qualifications

Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or current enrollment in an MLT or MT/MLS program may serve in lieu of two years required work experience.

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

Certified Phlebotomist preferred.
