About This Position
NRM staff are responsible for maintaining prairie restorations, the riparian corridor and nature parks throughout the Fargo Park District system with the goal of providing high quality natural spaces for the public.
Responsibilities include vegetation management (invasive species removal, mowing, chemical application, brush cutting), prairie seeding and establishment, pollinator habitat maintenance, tree planting and trail maintenance. Operation of pickups, spray equipment and power tools including chainsaws, brush cutters and mowers is required. Knowledge of skid steer and/or tractor operation is a plus. Staff will also work with various volunteer groups and individuals to accomplish departmental goals.
Work is primarily outdoors in varied weather conditions. Work will involve walking or standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing physically demanding tasks. Staff will follow proper safety procedures and adhere to Fargo Park District policies. Work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The position runs approximately from May through October (weather permitting).
Requirements:Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
