About This Position
This is an in office position.
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
Presents the company's loan capabilities, structures complex loan proposals, completes initial underwriting and prepares credit package including internal borrower history and loan request. Build Prestamos portfolio by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
Performs credit analysis function for ongoing commercial loan portfolio management and identifies risks related to each credit relationship. Analyses include business/personal/global cash flow analysis, income/expense analysis, balance sheet analysis, collateral analysis and market/industry analysis.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages credit analyst team
- Leads weekly pipeline calls with Business Development Officers and analyst team
- Reviews all credit memos under $150,000.00 before they are submitted to the Senior Credit officer for approval.
- The Credit Analyst is responsible for underwriting a pipeline mainly comprised of complex Commercial Lending requests.
- This position will analyze and interpret potential borrowers financial background, identify potential risk to provide a financial analysis to Senior Credit Officer
- Provide financial analysis to Market Officer with credit recommendation
- The Credit Analyst will assist with interpretation of Loan Policy and Cash Flow Analysis, as well as assist in department training on new guidelines, policies, systems, and other related matters
- Underwrite a pipeline of complex Commercial and small Business Lending requests
- Inputs financial and tax data on loan origination software/spreadsheets.
- Performs credit analysis function for new commercial loan requests and commercial loan renewals/modifications/annual reviews (including borrower(s) financial statement/tax return analysis, guarantor(s) financial statement/tax return analysis, collateral valuation analysis, market/industry analysis).
- Analyze and interpret potential borrowers financial background, identify potential risk, and determine credit worthiness
- Lead junior staff with testing borrower financials and independently test complex borrower financials required by Loan Policy to determine ongoing financial health, covenant compliance, and collateral margins
- Conduct initial underwriting to determine what documentation is needed to satisfy requirements
- Assist micro loan clients, both walk-in and telephone, with small business loan programs and provides initial counseling and referrals to other agencies.
- Coordinates technical assistance programs as offered by Prestamos to potential and existing clients
- Identifies risks related to borrower operations, industry/sector, collateral, etc. and communicates with respective Business Development Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
- Ensures that credit policies and procedures are maintained in compliance with all established and published commercial banking policies/guidelines.
- Provides customer service to current and prospective borrowers, researches borrower needs, answers questions, conducts routine research and solves routine problems. May attend client meetings as requested.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Assists in maintaining loan files and creates specialized ad-hoc reports as requested.
- May facilitate reporting and requests on behalf of the Prestamos CDFI, LLC with third parties, e.g. appraisers, etc. Orders reports such as business or personal credit reports, background investigations, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Education /Background:
- BS/BA in Finance/Accounting preferred
- 3-5 years relevant experience in commercial credit analysis
- Experience with 7a loans is a plus
- Other requirements:
- Able to work in office Monday through Friday
