The maintenance mechanic performs a full range of assignments using independent judgement to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations. Troubleshoots repairs and maintains heavy machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Typical duties and responsibilities include the following

• Industrial mechanical/ pipe fitting/ hydraulic repair
• Welding, machining and other fabrication
• Rigging, aligning machines and belt and pulley drives.
• Various preventative maintenance tasks

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are desirable:

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks on heavy equipment.
• Capable of pipe fitting and hydraulic repairs.
• Be willing to work off-shifts, weekends and overtime if required.
• Experience maintaining heavy industrial machinery.
• Welding experience or certifications

Special Requirements:

• Be able to climb ladders and comfortable working in elevated environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
• May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
• May be exposed to extremely dusty environments.
• May be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process
• Must be willing to enhance and learn new skill sets.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives.

Education Minimum: High School Graduate and or GED

Salary: $33.37 - 39.00 per hour
