This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Grassroots Fundraising based in the United States.
This is a strategic and execution-focused leadership role responsible for driving and optimizing grassroots fundraising programs across multiple direct response channels. The position oversees the day-to-day performance of digital and community-driven fundraising initiatives, ensuring strong donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth. You will coordinate cross-functional campaigns spanning email, SMS, peer-to-peer fundraising, workplace giving, and emerging digital channels. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to align strategy, execution, and reporting. You will also manage and develop team members while ensuring operational excellence across all fundraising activities. This is a highly analytical and mission-driven role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, data-informed nonprofit environments.
- Oversee the execution, optimization, and expansion of grassroots and direct response fundraising programs across multiple digital and community-driven channels.
- Manage day-to-day operations of fundraising campaigns including timelines, testing plans, workflows, and performance tracking.
- Lead and support peer-to-peer, creator-led, workplace giving, corporate matching, and other emerging fundraising initiatives.
- Supervise and align the work of the Associate Director of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising with broader grassroots fundraising strategy.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on fundraising performance metrics including donor acquisition, retention, revenue, and campaign ROI.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across digital, marketing, and agency partners to ensure seamless campaign execution.
- Support development and implementation of new fundraising initiatives, pilots, and revenue diversification strategies.
- Maintain structured campaign calendars, reporting frameworks, and optimization processes to improve fundraising effectiveness.
- Contribute insights and recommendations based on performance data to improve future fundraising strategies.
- Ensure consistency in execution, testing, and optimization across all grassroots fundraising channels.
- 5–8+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, digital fundraising, or direct response marketing.
- Proven experience managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including email, SMS, peer-to-peer, paid media, and advocacy channels.
- Strong experience with CRM systems, fundraising platforms, and marketing automation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze fundraising performance data including donor acquisition, retention, LTV, and ROI.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Familiarity with peer-to-peer fundraising, workplace giving, corporate matching, and influencer-driven campaigns.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills in cross-functional environments.
- Experience working with paid digital acquisition channels (social, search, display, programmatic, CTV) is highly valued.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, remote-first nonprofit environment.
- Strong alignment with mission-driven work and values-based organizational culture.
- Salary range of $93,000–$103,000, with structured and equitable placement.
