Director, Sales, Planning & Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Sales, Planning & Development based in the United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the commercial strategy for a high-growth business unit within the indoor air quality sector. You will lead cross-functional teams spanning Sales, Customer Service, Planning, and Product Development, ensuring alignment across strategy, execution, and financial performance. The role combines full P&L ownership with a strong mandate to accelerate market share growth and drive long-term profitability. You will influence product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and organizational design while fostering a high-performance culture. Operating at an executive level, you will collaborate across engineering, marketing, supply chain, and external stakeholders to enable scalable growth. This position is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives in complex, matrixed environments and is motivated by measurable business impact and innovation.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the full Sales, Planning, and Development organization with responsibility for overall business performance, including full P&L ownership and revenue growth targets.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to expand market share, strengthen channel performance, and drive demand across multiple customer segments.
  • Build and sustain a high-performance culture by setting clear objectives, defining KPIs, and driving accountability across teams.
  • Oversee organizational development, including talent acquisition, succession planning, and capability building across leadership and operational teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Government Affairs to align strategy and execution.
  • Lead financial planning and performance management, ensuring profitability, cost control, and effective investment decisions across the business.
  • Drive commercialization strategies for new products and ensure alignment between market needs, product roadmap, and operational execution.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions and long-term growth initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, business development, or commercial operations, ideally within manufacturing, HVAC, consumer products, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of full P&L ownership and delivering significant revenue growth in a competitive market.
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Deep understanding of go-to-market strategy, channel management (retail, wholesale, and e-commerce), and market expansion.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, ROI analysis, and investment planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational transformation and build high-performance teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working closely with product, engineering, and supply chain teams to align commercial and operational execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
