Trust Automotive Group is hiring a motivated Dealership Human Resource Manager (Developmental Role) to support HR operations in a fast-paced multi-dealership automotive environment based out of Irvine, California. This beginner HR management role is ideal for someone with foundational HR experience and California compliance experience who is ready to grow into a leadership position. The position partners with dealership leadership and the Corporate Human Resources Director to assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, California employment compliance, benefits, timekeeping coordination, training support, and employee records while helping maintain a respectful, professional workplace.

The Dealership Human Resource Manager supports day-to-day HR functions across California dealership operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, California employment compliance, timekeeping coordination, benefits administration, training support, and employee recordkeeping. This position does not have direct reports but may assist in coaching and guiding emloyees and managers on HR-related matter. This position reports to the Corporate Human Resources Director and works closely with dealership management to learn and apply consistent, compliant HR practices while supporting a positive employee experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of HR, recruiting, timekeeping, administrative, or related experience preferred; California-based HR compliance experience required; automotive dealership, retail, or multi-site environment experience is a plus
- Basic understanding of California employment laws, wage and hour practices, meal and rest period requirements, leave administration, recordkeeping, and HR best practices, with willingness to learn and grow
- Ability to travel between dealership locations throughout Southern California as business needs, required
- Proficiencywith HRIS/payroll systems, such as ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft Office
- Bilingual skills preferred, but notrequired
- Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening, subject to applicable law
Essential Duties:
- Support recruiting activities, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, offer support, and onboarding processes
- Maintain employee personnel files, HRIS records, payroll-related information, and benefits records accurately and confidentially
- Support California employment compliance, including required postings, recordkeeping, wage and hour processes, meal and rest period compliance, leave administration, and policy communication
- Assistwith administration of employee leaves of absence, including CFRA, FMLA, Pregnancy Disability Leave, Paid Sick Leave, and other applicable federal, state, and localleaverequirements.
- Serve as a helpful HR resource for employees and managers on routine HR questions, workplace policies, and basic employee relations matters, escalating complex issues as needed
- Assistwith employee relations processes, workplace concerns, performance documentation, investigations, and training coordination in partnership with leadership
- Coordinate payroll processing support, timekeeping follow-up, benefits administration, and open enrollment support
- Maintain employee data within ADP Workforce Now, including new hire processing, status changes, terminations, reporting, and audit support.
- Partner with the Corporate HR Director to prepare HR reports, support audits,assistwith workforce planning, andparticipatein HR projects that support dealership operations
- Maintain strict confidentialityregardingemployee records, investigations, compensation information, and other sensitive business matters.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Salary Range: $75,000–$84,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
