Job Description

About Current Clinic Management, LLC

Millions of people live with Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), a chronic condition that is often debilitating and under-treated. Access to timely, specialized care from electrophysiologists (EPs) remains a persistent challenge in many communities. Current Clinic is pioneering a new model, establishing a network of specialized, EP-focused ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) to expand capacity and bring life-changing treatment closer to home.

As a Physician & Community Liaison at Current Clinic, you are the face of our organization in the field, connecting primary care providers, cardiologists, and community partners with the specialized Afib and arrhythmia care their patients need. You spend most of your time out in the community, visiting clinical offices, attending health fairs, and building the relationships that make it possible for patients across southeastern New Mexico to access timely, life-changing treatment.

You are a natural connector who moves between a cardiology office and a community health fair with the same ease and energy, because you understand that every relationship you build has the potential to change a patient’s life. You thrive on independence and self-direction, and you’re skilled at reading a room and tailoring your message for whoever is in it. At Current Clinic, you’ll serve as a critical bridge between the clinic and the referring providers and community organizations that send patients our way, bringing field intelligence back to a team that values your perspective. This role is a great fit for a healthcare sales representative, physician liaison, or community outreach professional with experience in cardiovascular or specialty care who is ready to represent a mission-driven organization doing genuinely impactful work.

What you will be doing

  • Conduct regular field visits to primary care, cardiology, urgent care, and emergency medicine offices throughout Carlsbad and surrounding communities, including Artesia, Hobbs, Roswell, and Lovington, building familiarity and trust with the clinical teams who refer patients for specialized care.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, office managers, and clinical staff at target referral accounts, developing the rapport that makes Current Clinic a natural first call when a patient needs Afib or arrhythmia care.
  • Educate referral partners on Current Clinic’s Afib, arrhythmia, and cardiology programs, including our clinical capabilities, referral process, and what patients can expect from their experience with our team.
  • Schedule and facilitate office lunch-and-learns and informal education sessions for clinical teams, creating opportunities to deepen provider knowledge and reinforce Current Clinic’s position as a trusted specialty partner.
  • Facilitate introductions between referring providers and Current Clinic physicians where the depth of the relationship warrants a direct connection.
  • Deliver and replenish referral materials, program guides, and clinical resources at target offices, ensuring partners always have what they need to refer with confidence.
  • Close the referral loop by communicating back to referring offices on patient care updates in a manner consistent with HIPAA guidelines and Current Clinic protocols, reinforcing the trust that keeps referral relationships strong.
  • Represent Current Clinic at community events, health fairs, senior center programs, employer wellness events, and civic organization meetings such as Rotary clubs and Chamber of Commerce gatherings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, employer groups, and faith communities that can serve as channels for patient awareness and education.
  • Identify and calendar relevant community touchpoints on an ongoing basis, ensuring Current Clinic maintains a consistent and visible presence across the region.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all outreach activities, referral contacts, and interaction notes in Current Clinic’s CRM or designated tracking system, keeping the team informed and the data current.
  • Tier target accounts by relationship status and referral potential, and manage visit frequency accordingly so that your time in the field is always well-spent.
  • Provide weekly activity reports and field intelligence to the Director of Marketing and clinical leadership, surfacing what’s working, what’s changing, and where opportunities exist.
  • Flag competitive intelligence, market observations, and relationship opportunities gathered during field visits to help inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Support new program launches, such as our Cardiac CT program, with targeted physician outreach and education that helps build referral volume quickly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on referral materials, leave-behinds, and educational content that reflect the quality and credibility of Current Clinic’s programs.
  • Contribute field-level insight to inform marketing strategy and messaging, bringing the voice of the market back to the team on a regular basis.
  • Travel regularly throughout a defined territory covering Carlsbad and surrounding communities, including Artesia, Hobbs, Roswell, and Lovington; local driving may include anywhere from 5 to up to 200 miles per day. A company vehicle is provided for all field travel.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in healthcare sales, physician liaison work, or community outreach, ideally within cardiovascular, specialty, or ambulatory care settings.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in the clinical and community environments you’ll be visiting every day.
  • Comfortable with self-directed field work and the ability to manage your own schedule, territory, and priorities without close supervision.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and a disciplined, consistent approach to documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message for physicians, clinical staff, office managers, and community audiences alike.
  • A valid driver’s license and comfort with regular daily driving throughout a multi-city territory; a company vehicle is provided for all field work.
  • Knowledge of Afib, arrhythmia, or cardiology programs is a plus, as is experience working alongside electrophysiologists or interventional cardiologists.
