Job Description
Location: Oberlin, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Erie Industrial Products is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our Machine Shop team on second shift. In this role, you'll perform advanced CNC setup, operation, and machine maintenance while producing high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate has strong machining experience, can interpret blueprints and engineering documentation, and is committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate CNC mills and grinders to manufacture parts according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
Read and interpret production instructions, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
Perform fixture changes, tooling changes, tooling offsets, and machine setup adjustments.
Understand and edit G and M code programs, making speed, feed, and program modifications as needed.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to verify quality and dimensional accuracy.
Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to improve production processes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with CNC setup, tooling, offsets, and machine operation.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of G and M codes and CNC program editing.
Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment.
Regular bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, and reaching.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Comfortable working around machinery, manufacturing equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
