Accountabilities:

The Full-Charge Bookkeeper will oversee core accounting activities while ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and effective financial processes. The role requires strong ownership of bookkeeping operations, inventory accounting, and collaboration with business stakeholders.

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and ensure financial records remain accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including tracking materials, finished goods, cost allocations, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide financial insights to leadership.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support business objectives.
  • Record payroll-related journal entries while coordinating with external payroll processes.
  • Collaborate with management and external accountants to support compliance with applicable tax and financial regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, increase efficiency, and strengthen financial reporting processes.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced bookkeeping professional with strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote contract environment.

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a manufacturing or inventory-driven business environment.
  • Expert-level proficiency with QuickBooks Online; QBO certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles, including FIFO/LIFO methodologies, reconciliation processes, and cost analysis.
  • Experience managing financial reporting, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations and the connection between inventory management and accounting systems.
  • Experience with job costing, cost accounting, ERP systems, or accounting software integrations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working within a flexible part-time schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of business tax regulations at the state and federal level is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote contract position with flexible working arrangements.
  • Part-time schedule of approximately 20–30 hours per week.
  • Opportunity to support a growing manufacturing organization with significant operational impact.
  • Ability to leverage accounting expertise in a hands-on, ownership-driven role.
  • Flexible 1099 contract structure designed for experienced professionals.
  • Opportunity to work independently while collaborating with business leaders and accounting partners.
