The Telecommunications Electronics/Network Technician will be responsible for supporting network infrastructure expansion, upgrades, and operational readiness across healthcare and mission-critical environments. This role requires strong technical execution, attention to detail, and the ability to manage installations, testing, and documentation activities across multiple locations.
- Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of wired and wireless LAN/WLAN infrastructure, including switches, access points, controllers, and related network components.
- Support LAN and WLAN core cutovers at small and large medical treatment facilities across domestic and international locations.
- Execute network infrastructure activities including grounding and bonding of electronics, patch connections, switch installations, and hardware deployments.
- Configure and troubleshoot network equipment from technologies including Cisco, Brocade, Juniper, Aruba, and wireless controller platforms.
- Conduct information assurance authentication testing and evaluation of installed network components.
- Support surveys, design documentation, installation plans, hardware inventory reports, and implementation closeout activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including Visio interconnect diagrams, as-built drawings, quality control reports, and post-implementation documentation.
- Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and coordination activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is completed according to technical standards, security requirements, and project objectives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced network professional with strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, routing and switching technologies, and secure government environments. Candidates should demonstrate technical expertise, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while supporting complex field operations.
- 7+ years of experience in network administration, telecommunications, routing, switching, and enterprise network environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Clearance; current active Secret Clearance strongly preferred.
- Experience with AirMagnet Pro and wireless network analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Brocade, Juniper networking technologies, Aruba solutions, and Cisco Wireless Controllers.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WLAN infrastructure design, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to analyze technical issues, identify solutions, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel extensively, including approximately 80% travel to domestic and international locations.
- Ability to work in a remote environment while maintaining productivity, accountability, and effective communication.
