This role plays a critical part in enabling the successful commercialization of innovative medical technology by ensuring strong reimbursement access and payer alignment across hospital and physician accounts. You will act as the primary reimbursement expert supporting field sales teams and healthcare providers, helping them navigate coding, coverage, and payment pathways. Operating in a highly cross-functional environment, you will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, clinical, and prior authorization teams to remove reimbursement barriers and accelerate adoption. The position is heavily field-facing, requiring strong engagement with hospital stakeholders, payers, and clinical leaders. You will also contribute to broader health economics and market access strategies by translating policy and reimbursement trends into actionable insights. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly influences patient access and commercial success.
- Serve as the primary reimbursement resource for hospital and physician accounts, supporting field teams with coding, coverage, and payment education.
- Lead reimbursement discussions, trainings, and advisory sessions with new and existing customers to support adoption and access.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve reimbursement challenges in collaboration with sales, prior authorization, and account teams.
- Develop and deliver reimbursement tools, training materials, and health economic content for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor payer policies, reimbursement trends, and competitive dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
- Engage hospital decision-makers such as CFOs, chargemasters, and compliance leaders to support reimbursement strategy and execution.
- Support payer engagement efforts, including coverage requests, policy discussions, and local payer relationship development.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in health economics, business, public health, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in reimbursement, market access, or health economics within the medical device industry.
- Strong expertise in U.S. reimbursement systems, including Medicare, private payer policies, coding (including Category III CPT), and payment models.
- Proven field reimbursement experience supporting hospital-based technologies and complex revenue cycle environments.
- Deep understanding of provider and payer decision-making processes, including hospital administration and physician practice economics.
- Experience working cross-functionally in regulated healthcare environments with commercial, clinical, and policy stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate clinical and economic evidence into clear value propositions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage complex discussions.
- Oncology or advanced medical device experience is strongly preferred.
