| Physical Requirements | Lift pushing and pulling of objects over 20lbs is not expected. It is expected the individual will not be sitting for long periods of time. The individual will be required to wear protective equipment and be expected to work with pathogens with known risk to human health. Training will be provided. |

| Job Summary | The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine – Rheumatology is seeking an individual to perform scientific research for ongoing research projects. This position will work on National Institutes of Health (NIH) – funded projects studying innate immune signaling and responses. This collaborative project will examine the intersection of interferon system in autoimmune diseases. Currently, there are several ongoing projects in the laboratory to study the role of 14-3-3z and IRF in autoimmune diseases. Additional responsibilities include experimentation, lab management, organization, communication and training of lab personnel. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Excellent communication, regulatory documentation experience, Proficiency in genetic and molecular biology techniques, Familiarity with mouse colonies and small animal surgeries, Ability to manage federally funded research operations, Strong organizational and leadership skills |
