The Assistant Kitchen Manager will support the Restaurant Kitchen Manager in overseeing kitchen operations within a single restaurant location, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency. This role is integral in managing kitchen staff, inventory, and food safety, supporting the restaurant’s continued growth and success.

- Schedule, coordinate, and appoint activities to kitchen staff.
- Supervise food preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure accountability of kitchen staff.
- Identify staffing needs, recruit, and recommend candidates for hiring.
- Coach and develop crew members, fostering skill growth and teamwork.
- Implement and uphold kitchen safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels to ensure proper stock and minimize waste.
- Oversee kitchen sanitation and enforce health and safety guidelines.
- Conducts Food & Safety audits.
- Conduct regular line checks to maintain consistency and quality in food preparation.
- Monitor ticket times throughout each shift to optimize food service speed.
- Conduct inventory checks and manage stock levels efficiently to ensure proper stock and minimize waste.
- Oversee food preparation to ensure recipe quality and accuracy.
- Ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Proven experience in a kitchen role.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
- Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and compliance processes.
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Requires standing for extended periods of up to 8-10 hours.
- May involve lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
