Job Description
DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
This is an educator that assists in coordinating and teaching the certified nursing assistant course in accordance with the mission and values of Berkshire Health Systems. Responsibilities include establishing objectives and content based on assessed needs, evaluating outcomes, and maintaining current professional knowledge. The primary responsibility is for the development of CNAs. The educator serves as liaison between assigned area or entity, and BHS Education. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the State DPH regulatory requirements.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
A.
Experience:
●
Two years of experience in the area of health care working with elder patients.
●
Prior experience in teaching required at either student or staff level.
●
Experience in assessing education needs of individuals and developing an education plan.
B.
Education and Training:
●
Associate's Degree.
C.
License, Certification & Registration:
●
BLS Certification within 3 months.
●
DPHT - Approval to teach. in the state of Massachusetts.
D.
Other Requirements:
●
Knowledge of infection prevention practices.
●
Ability to work with people at all levels.
●
Ability to prioritize work and take direction.
●
Flexibility and team orientation.
●
Demonstrated aptitude for teaching and mentoring.
●
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and work creatively towards improvement.
●
Ability to teach and relate to a wide range of demographics.
