Job Description

Senior Software Engineer, Quality Platform

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Quality Platform in the United States.

This role sits at the core of how modern software quality is engineered, focusing on building the systems and infrastructure that ensure complex, data-heavy financial applications behave correctly at scale. You will help define and evolve how quality is validated across UI, GraphQL APIs, and partner-facing REST services in a fast-moving, engineering-driven environment. Rather than acting as a traditional QA function, you will operate as a software engineer building frameworks, tools, and feedback loops that improve reliability across the entire stack. Your work will directly increase release confidence while enabling teams to ship faster without sacrificing correctness. You will collaborate closely with product engineers to define the right validation strategies for each system and workflow. This is a hands-on engineering role where quality is treated as a fundamental product capability, not a separate gate.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and implement a scalable quality engineering strategy across UI, API, data, and partner-facing systems, ensuring strong and maintainable validation coverage.
  • Build and evolve automated testing frameworks, with a focus on high-signal end-to-end coverage for critical user workflows.
  • Develop robust API validation strategies for GraphQL and REST services, including contract testing, schema validation, regression testing, and data integrity checks.
  • Partner with engineering teams to determine the appropriate level of testing (unit, integration, contract, API, E2E, observability, or exploratory testing) for each feature.
  • Improve CI/CD quality workflows to ensure fast, reliable, and actionable feedback across development and production pipelines.
  • Leverage AI and LLM-based tools thoughtfully to accelerate testing workflows, including test generation, failure analysis, and coverage optimization.
  • Define and promote clear quality standards for feature readiness, without creating bottlenecks in delivery.
  • Mentor engineers on testable system design, stable APIs, and engineering practices that improve overall software reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, customer success, and support teams to translate real-world usage into automated validation improvements.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, SDET, infrastructure, or reliability-focused roles.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to design and build production-grade systems, not just test automation scripts.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks for complex SaaS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with browser automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Strong API testing expertise, including GraphQL and REST services.
  • Experience validating complex distributed systems involving permissions, state, async processes, integrations, and external dependencies.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies across development, staging, and production-like environments.
  • Strong judgment in balancing testing layers and avoiding over-reliance on end-to-end testing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate risk, trade-offs, and quality decisions clearly.
  • Interest in AI-assisted engineering tools, combined with strong engineering discipline and critical thinking.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible PTO policy and 10 paid holidays
  • $1,000 home office setup stipend
  • $2,400 annual co-working budget
  • $600 learning and development budget
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Remote-first work environment within the U.S. or Canada
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact, correctness-critical financial systems
  • Exposure to modern fintech infrastructure and engineering practices
  • Collaborative, engineering-driven culture focused on quality and reliability.
