Description:

Job Summary: Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Administrator will primarily assist in daily EHS functions by ensuring the EHS programs are reducing risks, eliminating hazards, and accidents. Ensuring all is performed in accordance with all external regulatory requirements and internal EHS management guidelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support initiatives to enhance plant-wide health and safety practices.
  • Facilitate safety and health training sessions for employees.
  • Conduct safety and health inspections and audits on the manufacturing floor, ensuring documentation compliance.
  • Assist in managing and tracking incident reports and the incident management process.
  • Participate in investigations of workplace accidents and incidents.
  • Contribute to the safety committee and monitor team progress on safety initiatives.
  • Help maintain accurate records for all health and safety programs.
  • Assist with scheduling medical appointments for employees.
  • Assist with leading the Emergency Response Team, First Aid Team and Spill Response Team.
  • Support workers' compensation record-keeping and related documentation.
  • Undertake special projects assigned.
  • Assist with various environmental programs and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of safety programs.
  • Lead safety orientations for new hires.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on new hire drug screening processes.
  • Assist in maintaining environmental compliance documentation.
  • Support the management and upkeep of the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Professional demeanor and dependability with excellent attendance.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, and accommodate on-call/off-shift schedules.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and email.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, health and safety protocols.
  • Interest in developing knowledge of OSHA regulations (Federal and State).
  • Helping in the development, creation, and updating of safety and health programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or associate’s degree in safety, Environmental or Naturals Science.
  • Three years of EHS experience, or 5 years in an EHS role, preferably in the automotive field of manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste, DOT Hazardous Materials, and HAZWOPER Training is preferred.
  • Experience implementing ISO 14001 processes and requirements through certification preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment like computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While primarily sedentary, occasional work on the manufacturing floor may involve exposure to hot and humid conditions, dust, noise, and other elements.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position supporting a multi-shift facility. Work hours are set at the plant level with expected work schedule Monday – Friday and additional weekend hours when necessary to complete work activities.

Travel: 1-10%.
