The Director of Marketing & Enrollment Management serves as a key leader within the administrative team, supporting the School’s mission, visibility, enrollment growth, and long-term sustainability through strategic oversight of marketing, enrollment management, outreach, and communication initiatives.
The Director develops and implements mission-aligned strategies to attract, enroll, retain, and support students and families throughout their experience with the School. The role combines strategic planning, relationship management, communication strategy, systems coordination, and data-informed decision-making to strengthen enrollment, retention, and community engagement.
Working closely with School Leadership and administrative departments, the Director contributes to the ongoing development of family communication, outreach practices, and engagement systems across the School. The role supports the implementation and strategic use of communication and enrollment-related systems and tools to help create a consistent, responsive, and mission-aligned family experience.
A central component of the position is the use of data to support strategic planning and decision-making. The Director oversees enrollment systems and reporting structures, analyzes enrollment and retention trends, and provides insights and recommendations related to recruitment, outreach, retention, and community engagement efforts.
The position also serves as a key relationship-building role for the School, developing and maintaining partnerships with relocation consultants, HR departments, feeder schools, educational organizations, community partners, alumni, and other stakeholders who support the School’s visibility and enrollment pipeline.
The Director works closely with the Admissions & International Student Program Manager and broader administrative team to ensure a high-quality, responsive admissions process and alignment across enrollment-related functions. The role also collaborates with school development initiatives, including ROSI-related work, by providing data, insight, and operational support to help translate strategic priorities into effective outreach, communication, and enrollment practices.
This position leads and coordinates the work of the marketing and enrollment team, including Marketing & Design Coordinators, Social Media Coordinator, and the Admissions & International Student Program Manager, ensuring a collaborative, strategic, and aligned approach across all areas of responsibility.
Primary Responsibilities
Admissions, Enrollment & Retention
- Develop and implement mission-aligned enrollment and retention strategies, including short- and long-term planning
- Oversee admissions and enrollment processes, ensuring a responsive and relationship-centered experience for prospective and current families
- Monitor and analyze inquiry, application, enrollment, retention, and withdrawal data to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Develop enrollment projections, dashboards, and reporting structures for leadership and Board-level planning
- Support retention and family engagement initiatives, including outreach, feedback collection, and community engagement efforts
- Oversee enrollment systems and platforms, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and effective information sharing
- Collaborate with school leadership on tuition, financial aid, enrollment agreements, and related policies and procedures
- Represent the School and oversee all on-site and off-site admissions-related events
Marketing, Communication & Systems Strategy
- Develop and implement annual marketing and communication strategies aligned with the School’s mission and strategic priorities
- Collaborate with school leadership and operational teams to support effective family communication, engagement practices, and communication workflows
- Support the implementation, coordination, and optimization of communication and enrollment-related systems and tools
- Monitor and evaluate communication, outreach, and marketing efforts to support clarity, consistency, responsiveness, and alignment across the School
- Collaborate with the Head of School, Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees on communication strategies and key messaging
- Oversee the School’s digital presence, website strategy, content planning, and social media alignment
- Ensure communication platforms and tools effectively support internal and external communication needs
Data, Strategic Planning & Analysis
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and present data related to enrollment, retention, marketing effectiveness, and family engagement
- Identify trends, forecast enrollment patterns, and develop data-informed recommendations related to recruitment, retention, outreach, and communication strategies
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support operational and strategic decision-making
- Support leadership in long-term planning related to enrollment growth, community engagement, and institutional sustainability
Partnerships, Outreach & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with relocation consultants, HR departments, feeder schools, educational organizations, community partners, alumni, and other stakeholders who support the School’s visibility and enrollment pipeline
- Strengthen external partnerships and outreach efforts that support enrollment growth and institutional visibility
- Represent the School through networking, events, conferences, and community engagement initiatives
- Support outreach and relationship-building efforts that strengthen the School’s reputation within local, national, and international communities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and supervise the Social Media Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Coordinators, Admissions and International Student Programs (ISP) Manager
- Foster a collaborative, responsive, service-oriented, and mission-driven team culture
- Support team members in setting priorities, managing workloads, and achieving strategic goals
Must-haves
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Education
- 5+ years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or marketing, typically with 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Understanding of, or experience within, admissions, private school marketing, or similar educational landscapes
- Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns to boost inquiry and application volume
- Ability to interpret enrollment data and analytics to inform and adjust recruitment strategies
- Fluency speaking and reading German

- The academic year is 180 days running from August 1 to June 30. Staff are paid semi-monthly
- GISB operates across two campuses. Occasional travel between campuses is an expected part of the role and may be required for meetings, general conferences, professional development, or other school-related responsibilities. Such travel is considered part of the employee’s regular duties.
