POSITION: Project Manager – Industrial Hygiene

POSITION SUMMARY

A Project Manager within AEI’s Industrial Hygiene division will have previous technical Industrial Hygiene experience and knowledge in the performance and management of various environmental consulting projects. The Project Manager will also have prior experience performing forensic examination and assessments of Hazardous or Regulated Materials in buildings including asbestos, lead paint and PCBs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting and/or directing surveys of asbestos, lead paint, mold, and indoor air quality testing
  • Creating reports on findings and recommending solutions
  • Performing Industrial hygiene sampling and indoor air quality assessments including mold, bioaerosols, Radon, particulates and others
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Drafting proposals and cost estimates
  • Maintaining technical excellence, deep understanding of client’s needs, rigor in consulting quality and communication, and exceptional commitment to client satisfaction
  • Assisting the sales team with proposal development for advanced services
  • Partnering with regional sales staff to develop divisional clients through networking and delivering high quality technical services to all new clients
  • Managing projects from start to finish
  • Preparing proposals and marketing information for clients
  • Reviewing price and rates for proposals
  • Directing AC's or environmental technicians in the performance of work

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of proven experience performing and managing technical industrial hygiene projects
  • Excellent technical writing and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities
  • Ability to manage environmental technicians
  • Experience with field monitoring equipment for construction, remediation, or industrial hygiene assessments
  • Experience with abatement design documents preparation is highly desired. Experience with construction safety, emergency response and reporting knowledge of hazardous waste storage and disposal requirements is preferred
  • Experience completing field sampling reports, preparing cost estimates and attending meetings with architects, engineers, construction managers, and contractors
  • Demonstrates superior organizational and time management skills
  • Able to handle technical questions and guide clients through difficult projects
  • Excellent professional, problem solving, and management skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to flex work schedule to support project implementation preferred
  • The professional in this position should be proficient in proposal and report writing and will have superior writing, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service background
  • Experience/effectiveness in dealing with internal and external customers
  • A self-starter who exhibits superior levels of motivation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Corel DRAW is preferred
  • Sales experience and client base preferred

EDUCATION

  • BS/MS Degree or degree candidate in environmental, civil, environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, industrial hygiene safety or environmental science

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Active state asbestos certification(s) required
  • EPA Mold Training
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER
  • CSST, CAC or CLIA licensure preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The work environment may be both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work takes place in a typical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Outdoor work requires the ability to effectively perform work in all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, handle office and/or field equipment, speak and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, balance, kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to travel independently and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus.
