As the Medical Director, Clinical Product, you will act as the clinical authority and advocate for healthcare providers throughout the product development lifecycle. You will translate frontline medical experience into actionable product direction, ensuring technology is clinically relevant, intuitive, safe, and impactful.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, and cross-functional teams to guide clinical product strategy and ensure features reflect real-world care delivery needs.
- Translate complex primary care workflows, documentation requirements, and value-based care priorities into clear product requirements and user experiences.
- Represent the voice of clinicians by gathering provider insights, analyzing feedback, and ensuring product decisions prioritize usability and clinical effectiveness.
- Establish clinical quality standards, validation processes, and pre-launch reviews to ensure new capabilities meet safety and performance expectations.
- Evaluate emerging healthcare technologies, industry trends, and evolving care models to identify opportunities for future product innovation.
- Support alignment between clinical teams and technical teams by providing expert guidance, prioritization, and decision-making support.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high-quality execution across product development initiatives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced physician leader who combines strong clinical expertise with an understanding of healthcare technology, product development, and cross-functional collaboration. You should be comfortable influencing technical teams, making strategic decisions, and operating in an environment where healthcare and technology intersect.
- Active MD or DO license with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related primary care specialty.
- 10+ years of direct primary care experience, with significant experience working in community-based or outpatient practice environments preferred.
- 3+ years of experience contributing to healthcare technology products, clinical integrations, EHR optimization, clinical informatics, or digital health initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead clinical discussions, influence product decisions, and guide non-clinical teams toward effective healthcare solutions.
- Strong understanding of primary care workflows, provider needs, and healthcare delivery challenges.
- Experience with value-based care models, including risk adjustment, quality metrics, care management strategies, HEDIS/Stars programs, or similar frameworks preferred.
- Prior collaboration with product managers, UX designers, software engineers, or technology teams in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Strong execution mindset with the ability to prioritize effectively, communicate clearly, and drive accountability across teams.
