Hair Stylist – Independent Contractor
Thorne Crest Senior Living Community
Thorne Crest Senior Living Community is looking for a licensed Hair Stylist to operate our on-site salon as an independent contractor. This is a wonderful opportunity for a stylist who wants the freedom of running their own book of clients, without the overhead of a traditional salon lease — while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
About the Position
This is a contract (booth rental) position. Stylists pay $10/month in rent and are paid directly by clients for services rendered. You'll set your own rates and manage your own schedule, with the requirement that the salon be open at least 3 days per week with consistent hours.
What You'll Do
- Provide haircuts, styling, and other salon services to residents in our on-site salon
- Build and maintain a client base within the community
- Create a warm, comfortable, and dignified salon experience tailored to elderly clients
- Maintain a consistent, reliable schedule that residents can count on
- Active Hair Technician License (required)
- 1+ year of experience as a hair stylist, preferably working with elderly clients
- Fluent English required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Someone reliable, compassionate, and comfortable working with older adults
- Contract position — you set your hours
- Salon must be open a minimum of 3 days per week with consistent hours
- No holiday or weekend rotation requirements
- Independent contractor arrangement — payment for services is between stylist and client
- $10/month booth rental fee
- Not benefit-eligible (as an independent contractor)
