The Purpose of Your Role as a Chiller Mechanic
The Chiller Mechanic will help keep critical cooling systems operating safely and reliably for our customers. This position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial chillers and central plant equipment, helping facilities minimize downtime and operate at peak performance.
Your expertise will make a direct impact by solving complex mechanical issues, identifying problems before they become failures, and providing customers with trusted service they can rely on.
What You'll Be Part Of
You'll work on a variety of commercial and industrial facilities, supporting customers with both planned maintenance and complex repairs.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial chillers, central plant equipment, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and VFDs
Service centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating chillers from manufacturers such as York, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, and Smardt
Diagnose equipment issues, communicate findings with customers, and recommend practical repair solutions that improve system performance
Work with EMS controls, BACnet integrations, and large tonnage chilled water systems to support reliable facility operation
Maintain accurate service records, use proper diagnostic tools, and perform quality repairs that minimize repeat service calls
What We're Looking for in You
High School diploma required
10-15 years of relevant trade experience
Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial chillers and complex mechanical HVAC systems
Strong understanding of centrifugal, screw, or reciprocating chillers, along with central plant equipment and controls
Comfortable using Building Management Systems (BMS) and PC-based applications to diagnose and support equipment
Working knowledge on how to retrofit advanced systems
What This Position Is (and Is Not)
This position is:
Focused on servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex mechanical systems
A field-based role working directly with commercial and industrial customers
An opportunity to apply advanced technical skills while mentoring less experienced technicians
This position is not:
A general maintenance position
Limited to preventative maintenance only
Primarily office or administrative work
Why This Position Stands Out
This position offers the opportunity to work on some of the most complex cooling systems in commercial and industrial facilities. You'll have the chance to solve challenging technical problems, work with a wide variety of equipment, and continue building your expertise alongside an experienced service team.
If This Sounds Like You
If you enjoy diagnosing complex equipment, take pride in quality workmanship, and want to be the technician customers trust when systems matter most, we'd like to connect.
