Location: On-site DeKalb or Urbana, IL (with possible support to other Mid-Continent science centers)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Program / Business Support Analyst to provide administrative, coordination, and program-support services to a federal science organization. You'll keep projects on track, produce clear reporting, and be the organizational glue that helps scientists and managers focus on the mission.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and clerical support using standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, email)

Prepare, maintain, and distribute correspondence, reports, manuals, training materials, and documentation

Track deliverables, schedules, and task-order activity; maintain automated tracking of personnel, due dates, and program data

Prepare reports on cost, schedule, and technical progress; compile status updates and briefing materials

Coordinate meetings, workshops, and logistics; record and document meeting results

Support program coordination across technical, budget, and management stakeholders

Required Qualifications

5+ years of administrative, program-support, or business-analyst experience (federal environment preferred)

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database tools

Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization and attention to detail

Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation; U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a related field

Experience supporting the U.S. Department of the Interior or a federal science/research program

Familiarity with deliverable tracking, project coordination, or technical writing/editing
