SUPERVISOR (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:The Environmental Services Supervisor supervises and coordinates the daily activities of Environmental Services within an assigned area. Ensures services meet established safety, quality, infection prevention, productivity, and customer service standards.

The Environmental Services Supervisor

  • Supervises daily operations within an assigned area, including staffing, scheduling, work assignments, workflow, meetings, special events, and service priorities.

  • Provides employees with direction, coaching, technical assistance, and performance feedback.

  • Conducts inspections and monitors cleanliness, service frequencies, productivity, bed-tracking performance, and other operational measures to ensure established standards are met.

  • Identifies service or workflow concerns and recommends process improvements to management.

  • Serves as a liaison between Environmental Services and department leaders, patients, families, visitors, and other customers.

  • Responds to service requests, addresses complaints, and resolves conflicts involving internal and external customers.

  • Promotes and reinforces organizational customer service expectations through role modeling, employee education, and regular communication with assigned departments.

  • Participates in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

  • Addresses employee performance and conduct concerns, documents improvement plans, and participates in disciplinary actions and performance evaluations in collaboration with management.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational and departmental policies related to quality, safety, infection prevention, environmental standards, confidentiality, and employee conduct.

  • Reviews and completes timekeeping entries and related payroll documentation for management approval.

  • Maintains supplies, equipment, replacement parts, and service or instruction manuals necessary to support operations.

  • Provides input into departmental financial and budgetary planning and assists with effective resource management.

  • Coordinates special projects and participates in committees, leadership development, and other professional development activities.

  • Performs Environmental Services duties as needed to support staffing needs and ensure cleanliness and customer service standards are maintained.

  • Directs assigned departmental hazardous materials response activities during emergencies or incidents.

  • Travels to other work locations and may operate organizational vehicles when responding to hazardous materials incidents.

  • Serves as designated emergency personnel during emergency weather conditions.

What We Require:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 3 years of lead or supervisory experience required in Environmental Services.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: HAZWOPER or hazardous materials awareness-level training required and must be maintained in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective oral and written communication skills required. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations, maintain work records, prepare reports, assist with budgeting, and requisition supplies required. Demonstrated leadership, team-building, employee development, conflict resolution, and performance management skills required. Ability to direct the work of others and address employee performance or conduct concerns. Ability to travel to other work locations and operate an organizational vehicle as required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Compensation Range:

$20.10 - $28.14

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
