Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our dynamic team at our Potamkin Hyundai Stone Mountain Service Team. As a Service Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services to our valued customers. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Hyundai vehicles, ensuring that they meet Hyundai's high standards of quality, performance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Diagnostics & Repair:
    • Diagnose and repair vehicle issues efficiently and accurately using Hyundai-specific diagnostic tools and software.
    • Perform regular maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and fluid replacements.
    • Inspect vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, exhaust, etc.) and recommend repairs as needed.
    • Ensure that all repairs are completed to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Customer Service:
    • Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnosis and repair options, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
    • Provide high-quality customer service by ensuring timely and effective repairs.
  • Technical Knowledge & Training:
    • Stay up-to-date with Hyundai-specific repair techniques, technologies, and service bulletins.
    • Attend manufacturer training sessions and workshops to maintain knowledge of the latest Hyundai models, systems, and repair procedures.
  • Safety and Cleanliness:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and dealership policies, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
    • Properly handle tools, equipment, and hazardous materials to ensure safety.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Complete accurate and detailed service reports, including labor and parts used, in a timely manner.
    • Maintain an organized workspace and follow dealership procedures for inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
    • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification(s) preferred; Hyundai-specific training or certification a plus.
    • Previous experience as an automotive service technician or mechanic, preferably in a dealership environment.
    • Experience with Hyundai vehicles is a significant advantage.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Proficient with automotive diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and service manuals.
    • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills and customer-oriented mindset.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks.
    • Manual dexterity to operate tools and perform repairs efficiently.
