✅ 8 Weeks of Classroom Training
Great Bay Community College (Portsmouth, NH)

• Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

✅ 4-Week Clinical Internship

• Hands-on training within Core Physicians practices
• Work alongside experienced preceptors and clinical staff

• Program cost for employee: $2,950
• Tuition shared between employer and employee

✅ Certification Preparation

• Prepare to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Medical Assistant Certification Exam

• Successful graduates will be hired as Medical Assistants within Core Physicians practices throughout Rockingham County
• Opportunities available in both primary care and specialty practices
• One-year employment commitment required

• Attend 40 hours of classroom instruction each week for 8 weeks
• Successfully pass the final exam
• Demonstrate competency in required clinical skills during the internship

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED

Major Responsibilities:

1. Perform clinical duties such as assisting provider with examinations, procedures and obtaining vital signs.
2. Clean instruments and exam rooms as needed.
3. Prepare instruments for sterilization as required.
4. Order and stock exam rooms with appropriate medical supplies.
5. Call in prescriptions as directed by the provider.
6. May schedule pre‑admission and diagnostic testing, follow up with patients after surgery.
7. May perform any of the following administrative duties: answering telephone inquiries, scheduling, organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patient records.
8. Maintain and adhere to established Core policies and procedures and federal regulations, including, patient confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
