Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates activities within the Maintenance group while supporting the development and implementation of maintenance plans. Identifies and evaluates relevant vendors and service providers to ensure work is completed in accordance with quality control standards. The work environment may include areas where chemical materials are present, as well as shop environments with variable noise levels. This role works under the general supervision of a manager. This position is on-site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and monitor critical spare parts inventory to ensure appropriate stock levels, accurate descriptions, and proper documentation in-tie with the MRO group.
  • Review and update job tasks to ensure correct part numbers are listed; coordinate with the Maintenance Engineer to update work orders as needed.
  • Identify, order, schedule, and confirm receipt of required materials.
  • Administer the work order system, including adding or removing equipment, modifying work instructions, adding spare part information, generating reports, and opening or closing work orders.
  • Coordinate contractor activities, preparing scope documents, creating sketches or drawings, conducting job walks, preparing requisitions, and supporting safety audits and training.
  • Obtain required permits for the Maintenance Department, including hot work permits, safe work permits, and contractor permits for maintenance contractors.
  • Organize and maintain documentation for inspections, service visits, technical manuals, and required forms.
  • Organize and facilitate team meetings as needed to coordinate personnel, tasks, or projects.
  • Draft and update procedures as required.
  • Ensure all required permits are maintained in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Follow direction from the Maintenance Manager to complete assigned tasks in support of the Maintenance Department.
  • Provide operational support the maintenance management team outside of normal job responsibilities as needed.
  • Work weekends and off-shift schedules as required..
  • Adhere to all company SHE policies and procedures, actively participate in hazard identification and environmental risk reduction, and report all incidents, nonconformities, and potential hazards to management to support a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Maintenance department parts, workflow, and scheduling techniques.
  • COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel.
  • Positive attitude pertaining to completing tasks and customer interactions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skill to plan, organize and execute various tasks.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings (i.e. P&ID, Electrical one lines, hydraulic, HVAC), and specifications.
  • Strong computers skills specifically typing, Microsoft Excel/Word/Access/Project.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment. Must have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety. May be required to utilize variety of personal protective equipment

  • WORKING CONDITIONS

    Participates in production support including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    This role may involve work in laboratory or manufacturing environments with potential exposure to chemicals or other regulated substances. As a condition of employment, incumbents may be required to participate in employer-provided medical surveillance programs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and company policy.
