About the role
If you are passionate about delivering high‑quality perioperative care in a compassionate, supportive and patient‑centred environment, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference. As part of our Procedural Centre team, you will support patients at some of their most vulnerable moments, helping them feel safe, respected and reassured throughout their fertility journey.
Join a progressive clinical team where collaboration, clinical excellence and empathy are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for three part-time (3 days per week) perioperative nurses to join our Brisbane (Newstead) and Southside (Sunnybank) Procedural Centres.
What you'll do
- Deliver safe, evidence‑based perioperative care across anaesthetic, instrument, circulating and recovery roles
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy and informed consent throughout all stages of care
- Collaborate closely with anaesthetists, surgeons and recovery teams to ensure accurate clinical handover
- Prepare operating lists, equipment and consumables for efficient, safe procedures
- Apply infection prevention and control principles, including aseptic technique
- Conduct and document surgical safety checks, counts and team time‑outs
- Support anaesthetists with preparation, administration and monitoring of anaesthesia and sedation
- Monitor patients for clinical deterioration and escalate care appropriately
- Complete accurate, timely documentation to support patient care and decision‑making
- Facilitate safe recovery and discharge processes using clinical judgement and criteria
- Participate in audits, quality improvement and incident reporting
- Maintain competence in emergency procedures, including airway management and resuscitation
- Contribute positively to team meetings, communication and professional collaboration
- Complete all mandatory training and maintain clinical competencies
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will have:
1. Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse aligned to the Nurses Award 2020
2. Minimum two years’ clinical perioperative experience in any or all scrub, scout, recovery and anaesthetics in day surgery or theatre settings.
3. A strong commitment to patient‑centred, compassionate and respectful care
4. Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, communicating clearly and professionally
5. Commitment to continuous professional development, quality improvement and clinical governance standards
