Senior HR Business Partner

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior HR Business Partner based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to shape people strategy and influence organizational success within a fast-growing, remote-first environment.
You will partner with business leaders to deliver impactful HR programs that support employee growth, performance, and engagement.
The position combines strategic HR expertise, data-driven decision-making, employee relations, and organizational development.
You will help build scalable people practices while advising leaders on complex employee matters and workforce initiatives.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will use modern HR technology and insights to improve decision-making and employee experiences.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders while owning key people programs and driving effective HR practices across the organization. You will combine strong HR expertise, analytical thinking, and business understanding to support employees, managers, and organizational growth.

  • Own end-to-end performance management processes, including performance reviews, calibration cycles, and promotion programs.
  • Manage employee relations matters by ensuring clear documentation, consistent policy application, and appropriate escalation when needed.
  • Design and implement employee listening initiatives, analyze feedback, and translate insights into actionable improvement plans.
  • Advise leaders on employee relations, performance decisions, organizational challenges, and people-related strategies.
  • Coach managers through feedback conversations, performance improvement discussions, and promotion decisions with fairness and consistency.
  • Apply AI tools and modern HR technologies to improve people analytics, program delivery, and decision-making efficiency.
  • Translate people data into meaningful insights that support workforce planning and strategic business decisions.
  • Partner with leadership teams to develop and implement people strategies aligned with business priorities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, direct feedback, continuous learning, and employee growth.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation, innovation, and scalable solutions.
Requirements:

You are an experienced HR professional with strong business partnership skills and a track record of delivering impactful people programs. You combine technical HR knowledge, sound judgment, and strong communication abilities to support leaders and employees in a dynamic environment.

  • Proven experience owning end-to-end performance review or promotion cycles within a multi-team organization.
  • Experience independently managing employee relations matters, including documentation, policy interpretation, and escalation processes.
  • Experience designing or managing employee engagement and listening surveys and converting results into practical action plans.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and modern HR technology to improve people analytics and operational efficiency.
  • Strong experience coaching managers through sensitive conversations, including feedback, performance challenges, and career decisions.
  • Ability to balance HR best practices with business priorities while providing objective and trusted recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of employment practices and HR processes, ideally within Canadian workplace environments.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment with distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Competitive total compensation package with an annual salary range of CAD $92,000 – CAD $120,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
