The Principal Architect, Enterprise AI will be responsible for defining the architectural vision, standards, and governance practices that enable safe and scalable AI adoption across the organization. This role will bridge innovation and execution by evaluating emerging technologies, guiding implementation strategies, and supporting teams in delivering AI-powered solutions.
- Define and maintain enterprise AI architecture standards, reference patterns, and governance frameworks to support the transition of AI initiatives from pilots to production.
- Establish decision-making models for AI technology selection, including build-versus-buy analysis, vendor evaluation, data access strategies, security considerations, and responsible AI practices.
- Design scalable architecture patterns for AI-enabled workflows, agent-based processes, integrations, APIs, identity management, security, and cloud platforms.
- Research, test, and evaluate emerging AI models, large language models (LLMs), agent frameworks, copilots, and related technologies to identify enterprise opportunities.
- Build proof-of-concepts, define success criteria, and guide AI solutions through experimentation, validation, and production deployment.
- Lead architecture reviews and communicate technical trade-offs, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
- Partner with engineering, data, security, and business teams to translate requirements into governed, implementation-ready AI solutions.
- Create workshops, demonstrations, documentation, and reusable resources to support organization-wide AI adoption.
- Promote continuous learning by sharing AI best practices, emerging trends, and practical implementation guidance.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced enterprise architect with strong technical expertise in AI technologies, cloud platforms, and modern architecture practices. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, hands-on experimentation, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across complex organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise, solution, or platform architecture, including architecture standards, governance models, and reference frameworks.
- Strong experience designing platform architectures across integrations, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, APIs, identity, and security.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes and solutions using modern AI/LLM technologies, APIs, and agent frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent methodologies.
- Experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and related AI/ML services.
- Demonstrated ability to guide technical teams and support executive-level technology decisions.
- Experience developing AI enablement programs, workshops, communities of practice, or enterprise adoption initiatives.
- Experience designing automation, integration, or orchestration solutions using platforms such as n8n, Boomi, MuleSoft, or Workato.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience contributing through public speaking, technical writing, research, or open-source projects related to applied AI is a plus.
- Competitive base salary range depending on location, experience, and qualifications:
- Colorado: $153,300 - $203,100 annually.
- Washington: $153,300 - $279,600 annually.
- California: $153,300 - $306,300 annually.
- NYC: $185,500 - $306,300 annually.
