Position Overview
The Operations Leader supports the Restaurant Leader in directing daily restaurant operations and leading team members to deliver consistent guest service, food quality, cleanliness, safety, and operational execution. This role provides leadership across shifts, supports staffing and labor management, coaches team members, and helps ensure company standards and procedures are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts to ensure efficient and effective restaurant operations
- Support the Restaurant Leader with opening, closing, cash handling, shift handoffs, and operational readiness
- Ensure food preparation, cooking, service, cleanliness, and sanitation meet company quality and safety standards
- Monitor guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Assign tasks, manage shift flow, and coach team members to maintain productivity, morale, and accountability
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members as directed
- Monitor labor, staffing, breaks, schedules, and timekeeping in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
- Support inventory, ordering, receiving, waste control, and cost-control processes
- Assist with compliance related to food safety, cash controls, loss prevention, workplace conduct, and company policies
- Communicate operational issues, staffing needs, and performance concerns to the Restaurant Leader
- Act as the leadership point of contact when the Restaurant Leader is not present
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous restaurant, food service, retail, or hospitality leadership experience preferred
- Strong customer service and team leadership skills with the ability to lead by example
- Ability to follow and enforce operational procedures, recipes, safety requirements, and company standards
- Effective communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Schedule & Work Hours
- Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
- This position is hourly and non exempt, eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws
- Meal and rest breaks provided in compliance with company policy and labor regulations
Education Background
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional education or coursework in hospitality, food service management, or business preferred
- Ongoing leadership and operational training provided by the company
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25–50 pounds
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling food and equipment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and kitchen conditions
- Ability to safely perform operational duties in a fast-paced restaurant environment
