This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Underground Utilities & Communications Estimator in Mexico.
This is a high-responsibility remote opportunity for an experienced estimator specializing in underground utilities and civil infrastructure projects supporting major U.S. construction clients. In this role, you will own the full bid lifecycle, from initial drawing analysis and quantity takeoffs to final proposal submission and client communication. You will work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, competitive bids, and profitable project outcomes. Acting as a key commercial and technical point of contact, you will directly engage with national home builders and general contractors, helping shape bid strategy and strengthen client relationships. This position plays a critical role in expanding market share and supporting business growth in power and communications infrastructure projects. - Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and PlanSwift, interpreting civil and utility drawings with a high level of accuracy.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify missing information, risks, and scope clarifications prior to submission.
- Manage the full bid lifecycle, including solicitation, pricing coordination, subcontractor and supplier engagement, and final proposal delivery.
- Serve as the primary estimating contact for clients, communicating directly with home builders and general contractors to clarify scope and support bidding activities.
- Track and manage active bid opportunities, ensuring timely execution and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate post-award estimating activities, including subcontractor buyouts, RFIs, submittals, and ongoing scope alignment.
- Support pricing strategy development by gathering and analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all bid documentation and deliverables.
- Maintain structured communication across stakeholders to support efficient project planning and execution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and workflows.
- 3+ years of experience in estimating within underground utilities, civil construction, or related infrastructure sectors.
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction bids (typically $500K+ projects) for U.S.-based clients.
- Strong proficiency in Bluebeam and PlanSwift for quantity takeoffs and drawing analysis.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, utility plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- End-to-end experience in the bid process, including estimating, pricing coordination, submission, and post-award workflows.
- Experience interacting directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders during bidding and preconstruction phases.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to support sales-oriented conversations and client engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Prior experience working remotely with U.S.-based contractors is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with underground utilities, including power and communications infrastructure, is highly desirable.
- Competitive monthly compensation ranging from USD $2,500 to $3,500.
- Fully remote role within LATAM with stable weekday working hours aligned to EST.
