About the Role:
The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the warehouse and production environments. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products accurately and safely to support operational needs. The Material Handler collaborates closely with inventory control and shipping departments to maintain accurate records and timely order fulfillment. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to prevent damage and ensure workplace safety. Ultimately, the Material Handler contributes to the overall productivity and success of the supply chain by managing materials effectively from receipt through shipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
- Ability to read and interpret barcodes and use warehouse management systems.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with assembly line operations.
- Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
- Experience working with computerized inventory control systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks to move products within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking and packing duties accurately to fulfill shipping and receiving requirements.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are stored safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Utilize warehouse management systems and barcode scanning technology to track inventory and update records.
- Assist with assembly line support by delivering materials and components as needed to maintain production flow.
- Work overtime as required to meet operational deadlines and support peak workload periods.
Skills:
The required skills such as operating material handling equipment and using pallet jacks and hand trucks are essential for moving materials efficiently and safely throughout the warehouse.
