Job Description
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) will deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia. Provides airway management and any anesthesia needs throughout the facility. The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, and therapeutic.
Duties include:
- Performs and documents the paranesthesia assessment and evaluation of the patient.
- Select, obtain, prepare, and use equipment, invasive and non-invasive monitors, supplies, and drugs for the administration of sedation, anesthesia, and pain management services; perform safety checks as needed.
- Performs patient care in a surgical, emergency, and inpatient setting, as part of a team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of accredited BSN program and graduate of Nurse Anesthetist program required. Licensed Registered Nurse per MN Board of Nursing and Registered Nurse Anesthetist per MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS (License, certification, registration):
Certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Current clinical credentials and competencies necessary to work clinically, minimally BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to be a team player, effective communicator, be self- motivated, collaborative and well organized, able to prioritize.
- Skill in being thorough with administrative and clinical documentation.
- Technically proficient in specialty.
- Analyze and correlate data to construct and implement patient specific treatment plans.
- Ability to work professionally with various levels and clinical areas in the facility.
EMPLOYMENT VARIABLES:
Hours may vary to meet patient needs (FTE 0.5 - 0.75). Both scheduled and on-call hours expected.
