JOB SUMMARY
The Lighthouse Facility Technician (FT) assists the Facility Manager with maintaining the health, safety, and functionality of the facilities by ensuring that building systems and infrastructure support the organization’s mission and operations. Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the FT collaborates closely with the Maintenance & Repair team to coordinate facility needs and ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors. Job responsibilities require mechanical aptitude, ability to work with tools, good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Facility Technician will be responsible for the following core job duties:
- Preventative Maintenance: Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly preventive building maintenance tasks. Update records and complete documentation by procedure.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs to enhance operations of the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, as needed. Support housekeeping and grounds keeping efforts, as directed. Order supplies by procedure.
- General Maintenance: Provide support to the Maintenance and Repair team when needed to assist with routine repairs, maintenance projects, and problem-solving issues. General maintenance and repair tasks are prioritized by the Facility Manager in collaboration with the Maintenance and Repair Manager.
- Environment: Optimize facility structure, appearance, and safety to ensure a polished, comfortable, healthy, and secure environment for all staff and visitors. Assist with moving furniture and equipment, in addition to making environmental adjustments as needed. Implement room configurations for meetings and special events.
- Safety: Eliminate safety hazards, utilize safe work habits, and immediately report safety issues/accidents. Reduce safety risks for employees and guests when working throughout the facility.
- Documentation: Complete documentation as required to manage supply orders and maintenance records by procedure.
- Compliance: Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Lighthouse Operational Policies (LOPs), and OSHA safety regulations.
- Travel: Transport vehicles, equipment, or employees between Lighthouse facilities, as needed. Handle off-site tasks, as directed by the Facility manager to support facility needs.
- Communication: Conduct business in a positive, professional manner and always maintain a strong teambuilding environment. Communicate daily with the Facility Manager to prioritize job tasks. Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager and follow up to confirm completion or provide status updates.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High School or GED. Technical training or relevant experience considered.
- Special Knowledge/Skills: Able to perform facility maintenance and repair tasks safely with good attention to detail. Basic mechanical aptitude, ability to diagnose and analyze mechanical problems. Knowledge of HVAC systems, building infrastructure, basic electrical knowledge, and plumbing preferred. Must have good communication skills and basic math skills. Must have working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience: Minimum, 1-year experience working in a facility operations role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Relevant experience will be considered.
- Supervisory Responsibility: None.
- Physical: Able to lift 60 lbs., bend, stoop, climb, and walk frequently throughout the day. Able to travel throughout the facility and respond to emergencies.
- Personality: Dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, personable, collaborative, open to learning.
- Working Conditions: Inside and outside facility environments. and multiple office locations.
- Work Schedule: 40 hours weekly, OT as needed, Monday – Friday. Occasional nights and weekends may be required.
- Pre-employment testing required: Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results from background check, drug testing, and motor vehicle report.
